Ashenmane howled like a wild beast as Talonhawk's claws struck her side, digging past thick fur into flesh and muscle, striking the elder warrior hard as blood dripped down across her chest. She wheezed, pained - but she was a bulky she-cat. And anger could do quite a bit to fuel a fighter like her.
"And here I thought we taught you better than to attack a cat when they are down!" She snarled, teeth flashing as she moved in to attack Talonhawk yet again. She had been hoping that Ratnose would have been able to run for help while she deflected Talonhawk, to warn their clanmates of his intrusion, but the skinny tom was already greviously injured as it was. She felt his blood staining the dirt and turning it to mud. Or was that her own? She couldn't rightly tell at that moment.
She avoided using her heavy paws, and instead lashed out with her jaws, attempting to latch herself onto the tom and simply hold him - in case he decided to do any more grievous harm to Ratnose. And to buy time.
Attacking Talonhawk (Possibly Just as Distraction)
Ravenstar flicked droplets from his ears as he trudged into Softpaw Straight. This drizzle was slowly becoming a downpour, though the thick canopy warded off the worst of the rain. A few rhythmic drops hit along his spine as he traversed the area. The soft ground was growing softer as the rain continued to fall; Ravenstar hoped to return to camp before the storm summoned its full strength.
As he walked, he considered his Clanmates. He had been separated from them for quite some time -- too long, really. Although that was mostly his fault, Ravenstar trusted that Ashenmane had handled things in his absence. He knew that powerful, bulky she-cat could--
Ravenstar halted, his paws slightly sinking into the ground. How odd. The tom squinted and peered through the rain ahead of him. Had his musings somehow summoned an apparition of the burly deputy? Ravenstar was certain he could discern her familiar shape through the misty haze ahead. As he pondered this, he heard her howl.
Ravenstar felt urgency flood his body, as if he could rip away from his physical form in order to answer her distressed call. The rhythm of his pawsteps joined with the rain in a dreadful beat -- resounding drums of war.
The GlenClan leader rushed into the scene. It only took a heartbeat for him to understand the situation. Ashenmane's face distorted in rage. Ratnose's body on the ground. Blood. Everywhere.
And him.
Fiery suns of orange locked onto the dark tabby, as if to dispel the rain's chill with the burning realization within them. He had not given much thought to the tom in the past moons, but he had never forgotten him. Talonhawk had come home.
Usually, Ravenstar would rely on his ability as a wordsmith to manipulate the situation. But he had arrived too late; there would be no comprehension of any clever taunt or appeal to reason now. Ravenstar had leaped into the very heat of the battle and yet... perhaps it would be enough to stall. If only just enough.
"Ashenmane! To camp!" he ordered, turning to face the intruder. He did not know the particulars of the fight, only that there was one. He only hoped Ashenmane would understand the next course of action. He knew she would protect her Clan -- now it was his turn.
Ravenstar lashed his tail and glared at Talonhawk. "Well," he said curtly. "The great warrior has finally returned. To what end?"

Ratnose did his best to keep his vision clear. With his dark crimson blood spilling from his body, his strength went with it. No matter how much he was screaming at himself to get up and help Ashenmane there was nothing he could do.
Her perked his ears when he heard her howl. Her voice was a clear indication that she too was struck. Then, he felt another sharp pain as claws dug into his flesh once more. Talonhawk has stuck him once again and that was all Ratnose had left in him.
The tom's head fell to the floor and his mind blanked, vision darkening. Secretly Ratnose prayed for his death, but little did he know he was only unconscious unaware of Ravenstar's arrival.
(I think I role-played that right, let me know if not. I will edited as needed.)
He grinned. Well, he had knocked out Ratnose. He doubted the lithe, mostly furless cat would make those kinds of comments ever again. However, as Ashenmane tried to attack him, he sighed, and easily jumped out of the way once more.
(Auto evade)
He was about to try and attack her again, when all of a sudden, who should show up but Ravenstar himself. He hadn't intended to fight the clan leader at this time, and for all he knew, a patrol would soon follow. And, who knew if he could handle a whole patrol at once? Growling at his former leader, he narrowed his eyes and said, "You'll see soon enough, Ravenstar..." Then, deciding to make a tactical retreat, he started to run south, as if the wind itself was helping him.

Ravenstar glared after Talonhawk, permitting the rogue to escape. Pursuit would be futile; there were more important matters to contend with. The ominous threat he had left nestled itself into the forefront of Ravenstar's mind. He would be back.
Ravenstar turned toward his Clanmates, eyes flicking toward Ashenmane before falling to Ratnose. Their wounds were great. Talonhawk had been a formidable opponent. He noted with growing unease that the rogue had left unharmed, while his deputy had suffered a terrible blow. He felt a creeping blame curl around his chest -- could this all been averted if he hadn't indulged in hunting for another Clan? The possibility was the most troubling thought that he had incurred from the situation.
The leader felt weighed down by more than the mud at his paws. His stately posture slackened under unseen pressure, but he strode over to Ratnose with determination. He regarded the tom's wounds with careful thought. He padded around his unconscious Clanmate, considering different angles before appearing to decide on one. With painstaking gentleness, he took hold of the tom's hairless scruff in his jaws and lifted him. He'd hate to move him like this, but it wasn't safe to fetch a medicine cat instead. He only hoped he wouldn't cause further damage by attempting to carry the tom that was decently larger than him.
In one swift movement, Ravenstar released his hold on Ratnose and slid underneath him -- in effect draping the wounded warrior over his shoulders. After ensuring that Ratnose would not slip, he looked at Ashenmane.
There were so many things that needed to be said. Ravenstar couldn't find the ability to say any of them. He simply blinked, as if in silent acknowledgement. She would understand.
He walked away, taking large yet fluid steps. Although he wanted to hurry, he did not want to jostle the weight on his shoulders. (Ravenstar exits)
Ashenmane was bristling, blood weeping steadily from her wounds and her old bones aching steadily as she circled around, glaring at the upstart warrior with pure fury. She needed no one to fight her battles before, but she worried slightly now.
Until, a darkened shadow appeared at her side. Was Starclan fighting at her side? No...it was Ravenstar. She should have recognized those yellow eyes immediately. Despite herself she felt her shoulders relax slightly before tensing again in readiness to defend and attack. Between the two of them, they would defend their fallen camrade. And drive away this vicious fool.
Or rather, this coward. Because with just a hint of the battle turning against his favor, Talonhawk fled. Ashenmane felt shame flood her in the cat's favor. He was one of their former friends - their clanmmate. To know that she had once counted on such a vindictive cat made her feel physically sick.
"Give me time, I will follow." She told Ravenstar, but she waited behind as the leader carried Ratnose ahead. She was breathing hard, but she made sure that Talonhawk was not going to try and follow them. Then she remarked the area - plastering the area with Glenclan scent.
They had one this fight...but she worried about what was to come.
Moonfre walking around Softpaw Straight trying to find some prey to refill the freshkill pile in Glen clan's camp from the previous prey and some unfortunate cats being lost during the big storm. Moonfire was sad that Glen clan had lost cats but she was glad that she wasn't one of them. She decided to go for something that up more of a fight then mice or gerbils.
