Ducktail was indeed coming along to make sure their precious, and now only, medicine cat stayed safe. GlenClan had suffered some devastating losses recently, and if they lost Featherfoot, they would have only her apprentice left to look out for the Clan should something else, like a sickness or a skirmish, occur. This was an important job, and Ducktail was definitely taking it seriously... She was just a little easily distracted. After pausing to rake her claws down a tree trunk and mark the territory as GlenClan's, she stuck her head out across the stream, scenting the air. Hunting hadn't been so good lately, maybe there was a kittiwake around that she could catch.
Spotting one paddling along under an overhang of ferns, Ducktail circled back around across the bank, watching it and following it until it hopped up onto dry land and began poking around in the undergrowth. Creeping up on it, she wriggled her haunches once for good measure, and then lunged towards her prey.
The kittiwake let out a terrific squawk as Ducktail's front paws hit it, and then fell silent as her teeth closed around it's neck, snapping the creature's spine with one crunch. The bird fell limp in her jaws, and Ducktail lifted her head proudly. There! It wasn't much but it would feed a couple cats at least. With her kill swinging slightly in time to her paws steps, she went back to where she had scented Feaherfoot's trail earlier, setting down the kittiwake long enough to pick it up again, and then following it back to the arch itself.
Sure enough, peering up past the feathers blocking her view, Ducktail could see the familiar white and orange pelt of the medicine cat. "Heeey!" She called, although with her mouth full it was more like, "Mmmpfh!" Padding closer, she dropped the kill at her paws. "There you are! Didja find anything yet? I caught a kittiwake, come see!" Her stubby tail flicked as she noticed how close she she-cat was to danger. "Hey, careful up there though. okay? Don't hurt yourself! It'd be terrible if you fell. Actually, why don't you come down? We can share the bird, if ya want!"
Feather foot looked up, mouth stuffed full of ivy, making her look a bit ridiculous. She heard everything Ducktail said, but realized that she'd drop her findings if she replied now. So, she slowly, and, taking Ducktail's advice, carefully crept down the structure again, before gently setting down the medicinal bundle. "An excellent catch, Ducktail," she purred, circling the fallen bird. "But I've just eaten. Perhaps we should walk back to camp instead, with our respective finds. Goodness knows the fresh kill pile needs it, after... After the events of late." She quieted. The recent tragedies lay fresh in everyone's minds, and Featherfoot was thankful that her clan had escaped with as many cats as it did.
She picked her ivy back up and looked at Ducktail. The she cat was a ray of optimism in times like these, amend Featherfoot was endlessly gracious for that. That energy would do everyone good. Featherfoot wished to be a rock that everyone could rest on in hard times, but perhaps Ducktail could be the bubbling stream encouraging them to move on.
Ducktail only barely tried to hide a snort of amusement as Featherfoot looked up with he mouth jammed full of leaves. Not that she had probably looked much better carrying her own catch, but still. "Thanks!" She grinned at the other she-cat, but her expression quickly fell at the rest of her words. "Yeah. Yeah, you're probably right." She looked at the lump of ivy sitting on the ground, and then back up at the medicine cat. "But hey, I bet this'll help a lot! Ivy's good for uh... Well it's good for something, right? And I bet everyone could use a good meal after, after all this. You know."
Following Featherfoot's lead, she retrieved her kill and padded after the she-cat for a little while, until her slower pace got to be too much, and he had to bound ahead and circle back to get it out of her system. Featherfoot was wonderfully stoic, but she could be like a snail sometimes. Not that that was bad! Just... slow.
As they neared camp, she waited for Featherfoot to catch up so she could brush her flank reassuringly against the other she-cat's, before bounding ahead once more towards the wreckage.

Featherfoot glanced back at the arch one more time, taking in the scene around her. Finally, she picked up her ivy again, nodding solemnly at Ducktail's words. Ivy did have it's uses, she knew that... She just needed to find out what that was. And indeed, it would look to the rest of the clan to come back with new supplies.
She smiled a bit behind the leaves as Ducktail bounded about her and circled around. The she-cat truly had an energy unmatched by the rest of the clan. Regardless though, Featherfoot maintained her steadfast pace toward camp, her head and her "catch" held high, stepping carefully over the wreckage of the forest that littered the ground.
